How do blood testing services work?

The first step is to book an appointment at IV Nutrition for your blood draw

You can do this in combination with an IV service or as a stand alone procedure. In total, a blood draw takes less than 30 minutes and you can resume any activities immediately afterward.

Before your blood draw, you may need to fast for a certain amount of time (usually 8-12 hours) in order to get an accurate reading of your blood test results. Make sure to ask us for specific fasting instructions, if they are necessary.

Once the blood sample has been collected, it will be sent to a laboratory for analysis. The laboratory will process the sample and generate a report that shows your blood test results. This report will be sent to us to review your results with you and provide recommendations for follow-up appointments, products, or other at-home remedies as needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Functional Medicine is a form of healthcare that combines conventional Western nutritional therapy with complementary and alternative therapies to address the whole person – body, mind, and spirit – and promote optimal health and wellness.

Functional Medicine aims to treat the underlying causes of illness and disease, rather than just the symptoms, by taking into account a person’s lifestyle, environment, and unique needs and preferences.

This approach may include a range of therapies, such as nutrition, exercise, stress reduction techniques, iv nutrition and injections, and other complementary practices, in combination with blood testing, stool, and urine tests. The goal of functional medicine is to create a personalized, comprehensive, and collaborative approach to healthcare that empowers individuals to take an active role in their own health and healing.

For some blood tests, such as a lipid panel, glucose test or Hemoglobin A1c test, you may be asked to fast for a certain period of time (usually 8-12 hours) before the test. This means that you should avoid eating or drinking anything other than water during that time.

However, for other blood tests, such as a complete blood count (CBC), electrolyte panel, or liver function test, fasting is not necessary, and you can eat and drink normally before the test.

In general, drinking water is usually allowed before a fasting blood test, as it will not affect the results of the test. However, it’s always a good idea to follow the specific instructions given to you by your IV Nutrition clinic to ensure accurate and reliable results.
